Whether you looked for, or just happened to find me, I'm glad you found me. Let me share a few paragraphs about my art and artist life.
Brushwork & Palette:
You will notice strong brushwork in my artwork because of my painting wet into wet, or pushing paint around.
For color harmony, a limited palette facilitates opportunities to mix colors that will have a consistently pleasant appeal throughout the finished painting. My limited palette consists of only seven pigments and they are: Titanium White, Hansa Yellow, Indian Yellow, Naphthol Red, Permanent Green Light, Ultramarine Blue and Transparent Red Iron Oxide. I have been painting in the Oil medium for over 30 years.
Inspiration & Surroundings:
I'm inspired to create paintings that will bring a smile to the soul. I recently moved to Fort Payne, Alabama and although My studio is still inside my home, the views are completely different from NY. Now, I have clear views of field hay reaching out to Lookout Mountain. Going down the country roads that surround our home, I find small Angus beef ranches, sheep and goat farms. The street next to ours has a pet braying donkey who gets very vocal if his supper is late.
Studio & Practice:
The studio is also humble with a large window. I have a drawing table and a wall easel. Other items are a taboret, a small wooden desk and chair, and a filing cabinet and storage closet. My current paintings are on display shelves so I can build an annual 20 piece collection that is cohesive. Everything has a home and is put away after a day in the studio. This practice is firm after many years of everything being everywhere and when I most need to, not find anything. To put forth my best effort with each painting, there is no noise or distractions other than the occasional visit from my 75 lb. doggie named Kodi Bear.
The About Me Page:
Is not your typical artist statement. It's a few paragraphs about my thoughts as a young artist looking for creative magic ...to a seasoned artist who understands the commitment and lifestyle investment that is needed to paint well.
The YouTube Channel:
Has the same name as this website- Brande Arno Fine Art. Many of the paintings on this website have a video posted showing the painting process with their creation. Having this channel not only validates my skills, but provides a deeper connection for the collector of my work.
Social Media:
Facebook features the occasional finished painting and links to videos on YouTube
Instagram features my all my finished paintings and a few words about them.
I hope you will visit often - Brande Arno
